Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
The children were sleeping asleep in their cribs as I was strapped with one of them to my back. Ha! All was starting to take shape, however it wasn't quite finished. It would take lots of time and money and my personal favorite brands interiors to decorate this place. My sons, my husband and I looked for treasures hidden at estate sales to keep my spending under control. Every week, we spent the week of Thursday through Saturday at garage sales and estate sales purchasing old and brand new furniture. Then I repainted and smoothed in the driveway during the workweek. It was a bit like the picture below... This is when my interest in restoring furniture began. No matter what, our house had already been furnished. There was a place at the local markets in which I sold my items. I could outgrow my space because I owned plenty of pieces that I needed. In my own home, I started hosting open houses in which more than 1000 guests could visit and buy any item they wanted from the first floor within a single weekend. Growing Days was founded in my home. In addition to my thriving company, I also started our family. Finding the balance was important to me. I wanted to be a mom as well as a business owner who was successful. Growing Days seemed like the best fit. The year was 2013, and my lovely daughter Nora joined our 4th kiddo. It was a great direction for my business, but I also needed some time off. I got away from the old furniture in order to spend some quality time with my kids. That was exactly what I was looking for at the moment. After a few minutes I began to hear my phone ringing. The people who called me were needing help with decorating their homes and interior renovations. Most of these people were the ones who had strolled through my house during open house for furniture! I began taking on clients one at a time working at my own pace however it wasn't time before I was running several accounts, and I was operating the complete business of home remodeling. I'm sure you would have amused me if you told me it would be the foundation of an DIY Network tv series. In fact, I laugh slightly when I recall the story.
