Her birth date was March 29, 1985, in Roswell New Mexican. Gerina Michelle Mendoza is her given name. Gerina Stevenson is a native of Mexico in the family of Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. Stevenson is of Mexican roots, yet is American in nationality. Her desire to play sports was born as a kid. Gerina began playing golf at the age of 15. Gerina was a student at Goddard High School for her higher education in high school. While she was in the high school level, she was able to win her first prize in the New Mexico state golf tournament. Also, she played volleyball at the state level. In 2003, she started her studies at the University of Texas. In her senior year she took home the top prize in every competition that was entered. In her time at college she was awarded the Conference USA Player of The Year award and the UTEP Female Sports Athelete Award.
